Joan L. Reese, 96, formerly of East Union Street, Nanticoke passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre where she had resided since 2019. Born September 13, 1924 in Nanticoke she was a daughter of the late Morgan and Bertha Belles Llewellyn. Joan graduated from Nanticoke High School, class of 1942 and continued her education graduating from Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business. She was employed by Dr. William A. Dykins DDS, Nanticoke for over twenty years before retiring. She was a member of Bethel Congregational United Church of Christ, Nanticoke until its closing and currently belonged to Nebo Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharyn and Fritz Bleese; a grandson, Brian Romanowski; sister and brother-in-law Muzetta and Ralph Morgan and a brother, Russell Llewellyn. Surviving is her daughter, Sally Swan and husband, Gerald of Wilkes-Barre; a son Gordon Reese of Arcadia, FL; grandchildren, Louann Romanowski Haydock, Gordon Reese and Allison Button; great grandchildren, Johnathan Haydock, Stone Magagna, Saige Magagna and Slade Button. A private viewing and funeral service will be held from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad Street Nanticoke with Rev. Timothy G. Hall, her pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Newport Cemetery, Newport Center. There will be no public viewing or calling hours.
