Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Judith (Judi) Ann Dongoski, 61, passed away at Wilkes Barre General Hospital on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Patricia (Mackowiak) Dongoski. Judi was a graduate of John S. Fine High School in Nanticoke Class of 1977 where she was involved in many clubs and activities including three years as a Flag Twirler. She graduated from King’s College in 1981 with degrees in English and Criminal Justice. She worked at Owens-Illinois, later Techneglas, in various positions retiring in 2003 when the plant closed its doors. She returned to school and became a Medical Assistant for Dr. Eugene Kim at Bone & Joint of Wyoming Valley in Plains. Judi was very active in high school and had remained close friends with many of her classmates. She loved to be involved in alumni functions including Class Reunions and summer picnics. She loved spending weekends at the New Jersey shore or listening to local bands, and she never missed a church festival or any event that served her favorite Polish foods. Every year she looked forward to attending the Kielbasi Festival in Plymouth and the Bloomsburg Fair. A very outgoing person, Judi loved to laugh and spend time with her family and her friends and always had funny and interesting stories about their times together. She loved her cats – Riley, Kirby, and Abby – and was proud when one of them was featured in the Citizen’s Voice as Cat of the Week. Judi’s smiling face and hearty laugh will be missed by many who knew and loved her. Judi is survived by her sister Cynthia Phelan and her husband Thomas of Jacksonville, Florida, their children Bridget and Matthew Phelan both of Arlington, Virginia; her aunt Mary Ann (Dongoski) Spoon of Hudson, Florida; and cousin Charles Dewald of Nanticoke. In addition, Judi is survived by an uncle, several aunts, and many cousins. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 9 at 10:00 at St. Faustina Kowalska Catholic Church, 520 S.
